BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL (BHP)This is work helping children and families with special challenges, to set and meet their goals to be the best they can be, and to be included in life. We help children with behavioral challenges to build life skills, social skills, manage their behaviors, and learn functional life skills toward independence and inclusion in home and community. 10 Forward LLC, providing Programs and Services for Families and Communities, is hiring Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs) for a variety of part time and per diem positions for DHHS funded Section 28 Services. We are seeking responsible individuals who want and care to do quality work, to learn and grow, and deliver professional level services for children and adolescents as BHPs. WHO WE SERVEBHPs will work with children and youth who are diagnosed with cognitive disabilities or functional limitations including intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, mental health/behavioral challenges including PTSD, ADD and ADHD. All our work is supported by DHHS/OCFS and we observe HIPAA regulations for privacy of client information. We value teamwork, compliance and responsibility.
Wages: $22.50 to $27.00 hourly (Varies per experience, certifications and education upon hire). Wage increases vary depending those factors plus work ethics, ongoing education, and onsite work achievement serving clients. Training wages, ongoing, are $22.50 per hour. Ask about our pay incentives. MUST HAVE A GOOD RELIABLE WORKING VEHICLE, GOOD DRIVING RECORD, INSURANCE, AND PASS A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK AND DHHS BACKGROUND CHECK. WHAT JOBS ARE AVAILABLEBHP (BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL) Will train toward Certification, and provide regular Supervision. Experience is helpful but not required. Per Client/Per Diem positions, are from 10 to 24 hours per week. POSSIBLE BLENDED POSITIONS: Experience is required. Office and marketing skills required. A Blended position means the staff person will work some hours with DIrect Service, ongoing, and some hours as admin or supervisory staff. Part-time positions offer pro-rated benefits. Full Time positions offer a Full Benefits Package. All staff at 10 Forward must provide BHP direct service, combining direct service and office work, and specific organizational skills, (such as IT, Supervision, Innovation, Human Resources, Marketing, Outreach, Training tasks) for the right person. THE INPUT AND OPINIONS OF ALL STAFF ARE VALUED and ARE PART OF ONGOING QUALITY DEVELOPMENT SERVING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. WE ARE SERVERS AND PROBLEM SOLVERS, PUTTING SERVICE FIRST. STAFF IS ASKED TO BE BOTH ABLE TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY ACCORDING TO TRAINING AND POLICY AND AS PART OF A TEAM. SCHEDULES: Most work hours are for after-school to early evening, AND / OR weekends. Some school day hours may be available. Also, we follow all CDC guidance during COVID. During COVID, some virtual work is possible, but with social distancing, this job is mostly on site at home and community, with virtual supports as a backup. Must be able to “get to client home, ” in most situations, but there is flexibility for rescheduling due to snow or illness.
MORE ABOUT THE WORK BHPs have exciting, challenging and often rewarding work with children and families. Sometimes the work is tough, sometimes fun, sometimes routine. Every day is different. Patience, a sense of good fun, humor, safety, respect, perseverence, responsibility, dedication and being able to think on your feet are important. You must like children and care that they have the best chance to succeed according to their abilities, and to help them build their skills and confidence. Driving distance requirements may vary. BHPs work with supervision, sometimes working independently in a home or community setting, with strong connections to supervisor support. BHPs are mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect and receive training to provide professional and skilled services. You must be ready to keep and send in regular documentation. If you like lifeskills development, teaching behavioral self management, coping skills, helping and working in a variety of settings from sports to libraries, to art settings such as museums or in kitchens, in home and community, this might be a good job for you.
