Section 28 Behavioral Services for Children
Qualified behavioral health professionals can make a positive difference in the life of a child who needs extra support to build skills for living. The leadership and behavioral support staff at 10 Forward are experienced in providing rehabilitative and community services for children with special needs related to cognitive and functional limitations. We help families thrive. We are contracted providers through Maine DHHS, to provide quality services for children and families who qualify. We serve children with developmental disabilities, history of trauma and abuse, with behavioral challenges or other mental health diagnosis.
Evidence Based work
We set goals and define measurable outcomes so that we can observe progress, make adjustments and move ahead to help children achieve needed goals for lifelong skills such as safe interactions, making healthy choices, managing their emotions, and being part of community.
Fostering Independence
Creative programs and supervised play with integrated goals for learning, sharing, following directions, even learning to enjoy and have fun within limits, are developed with best outcomes in mind and carefully managed. All of our outcomes are logged and shared with parents and care givers to help ensure progress.
When children have challenges managing their feelings and behaviors, or interacting with others, it can be tough for parents. You are not alone. We help children to reach key goals to prepare them for life.
FAMILIES and
CHILDREN's BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
We fully support those healthy interactions, helping with such goals as building life skills, fostering good coping skills, building good communication skills for every day life, and supporting social skill development for inclusion, with as much independence as possible, teaching children and families to utilize natural supports in community, and offering necessary attentional support for safety and well being.

Stepping Stone Resources to build Strong, and Inclusive Communities
A special feature of our program is that we work with communities by both identifying resources and building resources, helping with stepping stones to success. This may include supporting groups so that children with special needs will have supervised and safe groups for practicing social skills.
